As part of the dissemination initiatives of the research results of the PNRR AGRITECH project (National Center for Agricultural Technologies), which involved the implementation of actions in support of agriculture in marginal areas, a documentary has been produced focused on the strategic role of agriculture for the resilience of the territories and communities of small Mediterranean islands. The documentary broadly illustrates the peculiarities of agriculture on the island of Ventotene, emblem of small island Nature Reserves, and case study in the project. The product presents the research activities that were conducted by the University of Tuscia with the Living Lab approach, to define climate adaptation and ecological transition strategies in support of local agri-food productions. Through the Living Lab, scientific research translates into innovative solutions for the resilience of small island territories and the enhancement of their bio-cultural heritage. The product illustrates an innovative research approach and a case study, that of small islands, whose agriculture suffers from marginality and lack of access to technologies.
Results: implementation of field trials that have proven to be beneficial for crops; creation of an open-source agro-climatic platform in support of family farming; rediscovery of local genetic resources of agricultural interest; new impetus to heroic viticulture.
